Exhibitions at Tempelhof.  We have been unable to arrange a guided tour of Tempelhof Airport at an acceptable price, but fortunately there are presently two free exhibitions at Tempelhof that are a good substitute.  The first, entitled “Blocked Victors – Divided Berlin: 75 years of the Airlift” (https://www.alliiertenmuseum.de/en/ausstellung/blocked-victors-divided-berlin/) is on display in three weatherproof pavilions in front of the arrival/departure hall of Tempelhof Airport.  The second, entitled “A Broad Field” (https://www.topographie.de/en/exhibitions/a-broad-field) traces the history of the airport since its opening in 1923.  This exhibition may be found at the CHECK-IN Visitor Centre, Platz der Luftbrücke 5, to the left of the airport’s main entrance.

The Arts Society Berlin. We are pleased to be able to report that The Arts Society’s Board and our Board have agreed that we will cooperate to promote each other’s events.  The General Data Protection Regulations prevent us from sharing our membership lists with each other but we have agreed that details of events will be exchanged by, and then disseminated within, each organisation.  The Board of BHA has decided that the cost of our events (where travel costs are not incurred) for non-members will be increased from €5 to €10, thus matching the charge that The Arts Society makes for non-members.  However, the cost of events for guests of our members will remain at €5 (plus any travel costs).  We very much hope that this arrangement will be beneficial to both parties, and that we and The Arts Society might attract some new members as a result.  The Arts Society Berlin offers a most varied and interesting programme of lectures that may be viewed at: https://theartssocietyberlin.com/programme-2024/

The Association for the History of Berlin e.V.  The Association for the History of Berlin was founded in 1865, and is Berlin's oldest and largest historical asociation.  Members of BHA might well be interested in their programme (which is in German) and may be found at this link:  https://www.diegeschichteberlins.de/#  There is a box on the left hand side of the home page that can be clicked in order to translate the website into English!
